Kollsman Commercial Aviation Systems develops and manufactures advance technologies which address aircraft operation and safety needs in today's airspace and tomorrow's next generation airspace. A key part of this concept is the Kollsman Vision-Based Cockpit™ (VBC) philosophy. The VBC philosophy is to seamlessly integrate advanced sensors, databases, and displays into a cohesive intuitive cockpit platform whereby all flights become essentially a visible VFR flight regardless of external environment. The primary components of the VBC are Kollsman's EVS and HUD products as described below.
The Kollsman All Weather Window EVS II has been developed to improve the capability for commercial, business and military aircraft to execute precision and non-precision approaches and safely land in fog, rain, snow and other reduced visibility conditions thereby reducing CFIT accidents. The EVS also provides improved situational awareness during ground operations aiding in runway incursion accident reduction.
The Kollsman GAViS has been developed to improve situation awareness by extending the pilot's forward vision at night and some low visibility conditions. The product is designed to be mounted like an aircraft antenna without need for extra equipment such as windows and fairings lowering total cost of ownership.
The Kollsman Autoschedule Cabin Pressurization Control System (KAPS II) combines more than thirty years of cabin pressure experience with modern solid-state technology. Designed to minimize cost, weight, and panel space, this system is designed to meet the needs of advanced business and commuter aircraft.
Kollsman has a long and distinguished history in the development, manufacture, and certification of avionics instruments for commercial and military aircraft. Our current product line still includes production of many air data instruments whose design is based on the fundamental technology first demonstrated by our founder, Paul Kollsman, over 75 years ago.
Kollsman has long provided flightline and shop Air Data Testers that have been preferred by military, commercial and corporate customers alike.
