KOLLSMAN AWARDED $20 MILLION NEW CONTRACT FOR EVS ON ALL GULFSTREAM LARGE CABIN MODELS

MERRIMACK, NH - Kollsman has been awarded a follow-on contract to supply Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) to Gulfstream for all their large cabin aircraft models. The EVS will be installed on Gulfstream G450 and ultra long range G550 as production standard items. The system will also be available as optional equipment on the Gulfstream G300, G350, G400, G500, GIV, GIVSP, and GV.

The multi-year contract valued at approximately $20 million comes on top of a contract awarded last year from FedEx Express to equip all their large transport category aircraft with EVS. “We’re really excited about the acceptance of our EVS. In the last year, we have seen Kollsman’s EVS win the 2003 Collier Award as a member of the Gulfstream G550 team, welcomed the FAA’s new EFVS rule, win the Frost & Sullivan 2004 Technology Innovation Award, and now Gulfstream has further endorsed our system by placing a multi-year order to extend our partnership” states Randy Moore, Kollsman’s Executive Vice President and General Manager. “We are very pleased to continue our exclusive relationship with Kollsman. The safety, situational awareness and operating flexibility offered by the EVS is second to none. The Kollsman EVS system has helped us maintain our position in providing the safest, most reliable, and most technologically advanced aircraft to our customers” said Pres Henne, Gulfstream’s Senior VP of Engineering, Programs and Test.

Kollsman has also become a key member of Gulfstream’s Advanced Vision Center of Excellence program announced during the recent Farnborough Air Show. This program will actively pursue advances in new vision systems technologies for application in the Gulfstream aircraft fleet in order to ensure Gulfstream’s early adoption of new beneficial products.

Serving 12 models of aircraft covering each of the top aircraft manufacturers in the airline and business jet industry, the additional EVS contract award solidifies Kollsman’s leadership as the premier manufacturer of Enhanced Vision Systems. To date, Kollsman has secured firm orders for EVS from different customers for more than 700 systems.

Kollsman’s All Weather Window®, employs an advanced InfraRed (IR) sensor which presents an image projected on any raster video capable Head Up Display and Head Down Display, providing the pilot with a forward-looking picture overlaying the outside view in a conformal manner. The system allows the pilot to clearly view lights and ground features (such as runways, terrain, aircraft and buildings) at night and in low visibility conditions. Kollsman’s EVS has few training requirements and no database or infrastructure requirements. The pilots and their passengers immediately benefit from lower landing minima, improved flight safety, and increased situational awareness.

Kollsman, Inc., headquartered in Merrimack, NH is a leading manufacturer of avionics and electro-optic systems supplying to commercial and military markets. Kollsman is a primary provider of commercial aviation systems based on innovative technologies that have made significant safety improvements in the way commercial pilots fly.
